At the end of 1953, Pininfarina produced a "Berlinetta" on an A6GCS/53 chassis for a special order from Guglielmo Dei, a MASERATI agent from Rome whose customers wanted to be sheltered during the races.

Only 4 examples of this magnificent car were built between the end of 1953 and 1954. Its concave grille separated from the headlights was a source of inspiration for the design of the shield of the current Granturismo.

Chassis #2056 was delivered to Count Paolo Gravina who entered it in the race at the Giro di Sicilia on April 4, 1954 where he suffered a terrible accident, which caused the death of his co-driver Orazio Prizzi and seriously injured him.
The Count did not have the car repaired and it remained stored in Modena until its restoration at the initiative of Ermano Cozza in 1991. It is currently in the Panini museum.
