To succeed the Monofaro, Maserati produced the A6GCS/53 in 48 units between 1953 and 1955.

Chassis #2082 was completed on December 27, 1954 to be one of Maserati's official A6GCS, hence the white triangle on the front of the bonnet.
It contested 15 races in 1954 and 1955 in the hands of Maserati drivers, then was sold several times and contested another 19 official races until 1962, and its bodywork was modified to adopt the design of the front of a 200S.
