Appeared in 1956, the 250 GT Berlinetta “Tour de France” is the brainchild of coachbuilders Pinin Farina and Scaglietti.

With a lightweight design thanks to aluminum, fitted with the chassis of the 250 GT Boano / Ellena in order to quickly produce 100 units and obtain approval for this new GT. Powered by the V12 "Colombo", it innovates with helical springs at the front.

With 240 hp (then 260 hp) it triumphed three times, in 1957, 1958 and 1959, in the Tour de France automobile in the GT category with the Belgians Olivier Gendebien and Lucien Bianchi, hence its eponymous name (after a first victory of the GT in 1956 with the Spanish Alfonso de Portago), the traditional GT berlinetta also winning the very last edition of the Mille Miglia in 1961, with European champion Gunnar Andersson.
