Emeryson - Maserati
1961
In 1960, Connaught, on the decline, left Formula 1 which forced Emeryson, in lack of chassis, to resume his activity as a constructor.
With the support of former Connaught mechanics, he built a new Formula 1 single-seater.
In 1961, the young Belgian National Team created in 1959 bought two Emeryson-Maserati 61 for Lucien Bianchi and Olivier Gendebien, still without result.
The ENB redesigned the Emerysons to make them more competitive, but when Bianchi and Gendebien failed to qualify at either Monaco or Monza, the team abandoned the Emeryson chassis for good to turn to Lotus.
