Ferrari 250 California

1960

The Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder is presented by the brand as Ferrari 250 Granturismo Spyder California or simply Ferrari 250 California. Designed by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Ferraris and one of the most beautiful convertibles in the history of the automobile. Star of the film La Folle Journée by Ferris Bueller from 1986, it will become one of the most popular Ferraris.

It is not strictly speaking a spider but a convertible version of the contemporary berlinetta. Powered by the traditional Ferrari V12 engine, it will be produced in a hundred copies, divided more or less evenly between a long chassis version (LWB for long wheel base from 1958 to 1960) and a short chassis version (SWB for short wheel base from 1960 to 1962).
