Tipo 64 Targa Florio 1962
1962
Otherwise a new car, the Tipo 64 is a significant evolution of the Tipo 63. Two cars, one of which (# 001), rented by the Conte Volpi and his "Scuderia Serenissima", is illustrated by this model.
Engineer Giulio Alfieri made significant changes to the chassis, the "de Dion" rear axle and the position of the 320hp V12 engine which allows 320 km / h at peak speed!
The innovative and very futuristic style of the bodywork is signed Franco Scaglione.
Entered at Sebring 1962, it heats up too much and the headlights will be moved for the Targa Florio or, driven by Abate / Davis, it will not finish the race on failure of the steering.
